6-Week Hand Building Ceramics Course
Friday 27th Feb - 3rd April 2026. 11:30 - 1:30pm
Discover the joy of hand building with clay in this intimate, skills-focused 6-week course designed to guide you from foundation techniques to confident, creative outcomes. Working in a small group of no more than 4 students, you’ll receive plenty of one-to-one guidance in a relaxed, supportive studio environment.
Over the course, you’ll learn and refine slab-building techniques, how to use templates to achieve clean, repeatable forms, and how to adapt and design your own templates to bring your ideas to life. Each project can be kept simple or pushed further, making the class ideal for complete beginners as well as intermediate hand builders looking to extend their skills and confidence.
What’s included:
6 weekly classes, 2 hours each
12.5kg of profesional stoneware clay
Full use of all studio tools and equipment
All glazing and firings included
Small group teaching (max. 4 students)
Weekly projects:
Week 1: Origami bowl
Week 2: Flower cup & saucer
Week 3: Tea light house
Week 4: Wall sconce / altar (including designing your own templates)
Weeks 5–6: Glazing your finished pieces
By the end of the course, you’ll feel confident working with slabs, constructing functional and decorative forms, and making informed creative choices. You’ll leave with a beautiful collection of 4 finished ceramic pieces and skills you can continue to build on long after the course ends.

Your work will be ready to collect from the studio 3-5 weeks time and you will be notified by email to arrange a suitable collection time.

This is an event for participants over 16 years of age.

Your purchase secures your place – we cannot reserve places without full payment.
You have 7 days to cancel or change your booking. After this time, no refunds will be offered but bookings can be amended up to 28 days prior to your booking. After this time, no refunds or amendments are permitted.
This is an open style event and not a private booking so you may find there are up to 1 more attendee on the same booking if there are spaces left.
If we cancel the session, a full refund or the option to rearrange will be offered.

Group bookings are for a maximum of 4 participants. Due to space, no more than this will be permitted.
Individual places on a group booking will not be refunded. If a member of your party can no longer attend, it will be up to you to fill this space or pay the ticket of the missing party member.

If you cancel a booking less than one month before the class, the entire booking cost still applies. No refunds will be given.
