One-to-One Bespoke Lessons

£35.00

Are you a complete beginner or intermediate potter or someone that prefers private tuition? Do you find yourself needing some one-on-one time with an experienced potter in a purpose-built studio rather than signing up to a course? This might be the product for you!

Often as we progress creatively we find ourselves wanting to try new things but don't know where to start. Sometimes we pick up bad habits along the way. It's also common that we can't commit to a course because of fitting it around our busy work or study schedule.

This is where we can work together! I am excited to offer an hourly bookings option at £35 per hour for wheel throwing or hand building lessons, or a combination of both.

How does this work?

Step 1) You purchase the quantity of hours you would like to book. Ensure you complete the booking form as part of the purchase process. Passing your contact details to me is crucial at this point.

Step 2) I will contact you either through email or a telephone call to discuss what you would like to cover in the amount of time you have purchased. At this point I can devise a personal plan/curriculum where needed and guide you on what is achievable in the time allocated.

Step 3) During our contact we will agree upcoming availability which suits you and confirm your first lesson date.

Step 4) When you attend your first lesson, I will share with you the curriculum I have planned for you to check over and agree or change if needed. From there we can agree any remaining dates.

What is included?

  • Minimum basic throwing/hand building tools required.

  • Basic apron (you may wish to purchase your own wheel throwing apron if you wish to protect your trousers!)

  • tea and coffee facilities.

  • Clay and clear dip glaze is provided. Should you wish to explore glazing techniques we may need to explore a nominal glazing fee.

Private Lesson Booking Policy

Eligibility

Private lessons are available for participants aged 16 and over. If you wish to book lessons for children, please contact me by email before booking.

Payment

Your booking is confirmed once full payment has been been received. I am unable to reserve lesson dates or times without payment.

Lesson Hours

Lesson hours are purchased in advance and are valid for 6 months from the date of your first lesson. Any unused lesson hours remaining after this period will expire.

Cooling-Off Period

You may cancel your purchase within 14 days of booking and receive a full refund, provided your first lesson has not yet taken place.

Booking & Rescheduling

Lesson dates and times are arranged by mutual agreement and are subject to availability.

If you need to reschedule a lesson, please provide at least 72 hours notice. I will do my best to accommodate an alternative date within your remaining 6-month lesson validity period.

Rescheduling requests made with less than 72 hours notice will be treated as a late cancellation, and the lesson hours booked for that session will be deducted from your remaining balance.

Exceptions may be made in exceptional circumstances.

Repeated late cancellations or short-notice rescheduling requests may result in the loss of a regular lesson slot. In these circumstances, future lessons will be arranged on an ad hoc basis, subject to availability.

Cancellations

If you cancel a lesson with 72 hours or more notice, your booked lesson hours may be rearranged within your remaining validity period, subject to availability.

Lesson hours booked for sessions cancelled with less than 72 hours notice are non-refundable, non-transferable, and will be considered used.

Unused lesson hours cannot be exchanged for a refund once the 14-day cooling-off period has expired.

If I Need to Rearrange

If I need to cancel or reschedule your lesson, I will offer you an alternative date or, where appropriate, a refund for the affected lesson hours.

If I rearrange a lesson and this results in your lesson hours extending beyond the original 6-month validity period, those rearranged hours will be honoured beyond the expiry date. Any hours carried over for this reason must be used within 28 days of the original expiry date.

Shared Studio

Private lessons take place in an open arts studio building. There may occasionally be another artist working independently in the space and you may hear them. They will not be involved in your lesson, or in my pottery studio, you will remain the sole participant receiving tuition.
